Breathlessness and a morning tiff

Another gorgeous day, although the sunny mood wasn’t entirely mirrored within our household. Was really concerned about his lack of energy and eating lately, so worked out on a diet website his calorie intake yesterday- 1543 !

Given he is meant to be on around 2200, this is just silly. The problem is since the chemo he has had trouble with bread and pasta causing his stomach to swell, so wants to cut this out. Of course in other areas of life, cutting out bread and pasta would be called a diet.

He doesn’t eat red meat or fish either, so although we had mince and potato last night, quorn mince has far less calories than ordinary mince. During the chemotherapy, he was taking supplement drinks, which in addition to food, really helped maintain his weight, understand why he wants to stop these as he is fed up of their taste and reminds him of chemo, but of course there’s no extra calorie intake to make up for them

Really don’t want to be a nag, but don’t understand why he is so fixed on this, previously he had an excellent diet, loads of fresh vegetables etc, which he is continuing but of course he also had pasta and bread. Yesterday he had soup for lunch which had 59 calories,

Still, have said my piece, not really anything else I can do, force feeding unfortunately being out of the question in a free society.

Of more concern at the moment is the return of such bad breathlessness, really scary about why it has returned over these last two days. He is struggling to catch his breath at times, even just walking round the house- the idea of exercise is remote at the moment.
